Marley and Lindsey seem to be picture perfect moms who always have their kids taken care of. Betty White and Georgia Engel reunite on the small screen 40 years after The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Unfortunately, they will have to find a way to evict an old lady that lives there before they can move in. Matthew and Christine have a somewhat dysfunctional relationship which stems from the way they were brought up. Christine considers having plastic surgery, because she's afraid that she's dating out of her league. There are two moms in particular who always seem to rub Christine the wrong way. To distinguish between the two Christine's, the ex-husband and his new girlfriend both refer to his ex-wife as old Christine. They both do everything they can to avoid their mom whenever she calls. As creepy as he is, Christine is determined not to let Ritchie down, and so she complies. Harris Blair Underwood for the first time and Matthew announces he is quitting medical school after he is assigned a cadaver and it turns out to be a neighbor.
Richard still spends a lot of time at Christine's house even when he becomes involved in a relationship with a younger woman who is also named Christine. She shares ownership with her best friend Barb, played by Wanda Sykes. He says the only way he'll consider is if Christine will go on a date with him. Realizing that all the norms from Los Angeles don't apply anymore, they decide to celebrate a city that values real women and stay where they're still considered hot. But her resistance quickly melts when he begins complimenting her and suggests they sleep together. The New Adventures of Old Christine is a comedy starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the title character of Christine Campbell.
Christine's often needy personality often contrasts with the more self-assured personality of Richard's new girlfriend, whom they sometimes refer to as new Christine. Reruns will pop up on cable and local stations in the fall. Harris, Christine is finally ready-until Barb gives her reason to worry, and Matthew rethinks med school after discovering that his assigned cadaver is a former neighbor. Matthew tells her that if she's not careful, Ritchie will end up like him -- he can't go to sleep without talking to their mother. They spend the night helping each other break these habits. Harris have a smooth going relationship, until Christine's schedule becomes too hectic midway through the season causing Mr. Harris is on the ropes because she is just too busy with her life to make time for him. Barb leaves her husband and she has a short-lived fling with Matthew much to Christine's horror. Ritchie decides he wants to join the reptile club at school and tells Christine all she needs to do is get the permission slip in on time. . Meanwhile, Richard and New Christine take their relationship up a notch and buy a house together, which coincidentally is Christine's dream house leaving her feeling jealous and confused. Harris, but she has a relapse at one of Richie's parties.

It's unclear whether the show will satirize Democrats or Republicans specifically or just the political landscape in general, but hijinks will certainly ensue. Christine actually owns a gym for women. When she reveals her distress to Matthew, she also admits that she's been sleeping in Ritchie's room every night. As a result, the network decided to finally cancel Old Christine. Christine has been burning the candle at both ends -- working hard and trying to be a good mom.
New Christine is also very easy going and friendly even toward old Christine who often feels threatened by her relationship with her ex-husband. Later on, New Christine goes into labor; unfortunately for Old Christine, it happens to take place on her birthday! These two women also have more money than Christine and often flaunt it by making comments about Christine's poor lifestyle. In order to feel more secure, Christine asks Matthew to stay over. Meanwhile, a therapist tells Matthew that he is having an inappropriate relationship with Christine. The brother and sister pair are very neurotic with Christine being more obsessed about fitting in with the other mothers at her sons' school. Christine usually refers to this pair as the meanie moms. The show is pure comedy although it does touch lightly on a few issues which are relevant to single parents and working mothers. Harris Christine gets insecure and considers plastic surgery. This time around, they already have a well-established night of sitcoms and several new options waiting in the wings. When Christine realizes that she's forgotten yet again, she asks the Reptile Guy Jeffrey Tambor to make an exception.
