The rear axle is a 3. If your truck is geared right and you don't mind shifting gears, manual transmissions are fine, however they do typically have wider ratio spacing that can be very annoying and not so efficient when pulling a heavy load in hilly country. It's a lot of work even if the body is off the frame. I think it used to be about. Some stand alone options may be better than others, so do your homework. The C-6 uses one seal for the gear shift lever and an o-ring for the kickdown lever.
Product Description Ford Performance Engine Control Pack for 3. My Expy had electrically adjustable pedals. If you don't see a transmission listed it is because there are no aftermarket high performance parts available for it yet. Keep in mind that you may be disappointed with a stock torque converter's efficiency, especially when using a transmission that was not designed to be used with your style of engine. The price for a new torque converter is included in my built transmission estimates.
Upgrading Your Mustang's Shifter While the stock shifter isn't necessarily that bad, it has some play to it, which can cause you to grind gears when shifting. The 2015 F-150, the 2015 F-250 or F-350…maybe only with the gas engine or only with the PowerStroke diesel engine? The two overdrive ratios of the six speed are great if your gear ratio and tire size are able to utilize them, and the Allison 6 speed has the highest overdrive of all listed in the chart. I do not recommend aftermarket control systems for this transmission at this time. Unfortunately the spacing between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears is a bit too close for it to be ideal, so it's not much different than the 4R100 as far as gearing goes. After driving for several minutes however, this symptom tends to disappear.
I made the sender ring from a piece of nylon splined to the output shaft with a steel pressed on and ring screwed to the outside. This engine control pack also includes an electronic throttle control accelerator pedal that will help eliminate any throttle cable routing issues. There were two wires that needed to be connected for the starter to work, and two others that run the reverse lights. Ask vendors if they can completely control line pressure and clutch to clutch shift events. Essentially, the shifter had a linkage connecting it to the transmission, instead of the shifter being directly attached to the transmission. The clutch cable from the factory was made from plastic, which expands when hot and can cause the clutch to malfunction--especially while racing--more often than not this would result in the clutch sticking to the floor.
I've never done business with a company that has treated me so well. This is mapped to factory boost and power levels. We will be retaining the column shifter, linkage rod and frame mounted bellcrank without any modifications to them. This adapter plate is used in place of the factory engine plate and is from Art Carr Performance Products part 22600. If there has been any other internal changes to the transmission setup, Ford has been pretty tight lipped about it. I had to make the front tube have a sharper bend to clear the spring support on the frame. Don't overlook gear ratios, as how the transmission will work with the rest of your drivetrain is very important when considering the efficiency and power transfer gains a transmission swap can offer. There was a dipstick boss on the passenger side head that was not used. It also positions the big block starter 351M-460 in the correct location.
The cold problem and occasional report of sloppy shifting tip the hand to the fact that there are still some improvements to be done. Clydesdale also did this swap in a 98 expy. In other words, low first is nice, but if you don't have an equally low reverse you may need a lower axle ratio to prevent issues backing heavy trailers. I figure if a guy is going to go to the trouble to make the best truck out there, he should probably have the best type of transfer case too. I made a small tap holder shown on the right.
