If that checks out it could be a wiring issue on the trailer I am assuming that you know the trailer lights are intact and work.

I recommend using a relay wired and fused directly from the battery and the activating lead coming from the high beam light switch at the dash. The relay module is located in the dash to the upper right edge of the instrument cluster. Then look reach up under the dash and your speedometer cable is connected to the left hand side of the instrument cluster when looking at the cluster. This is only a real issue on some models of the F-150. Remove that plastic barrier to access the fuse box. After disengaging 4 wheel drive I have had a popping noise in the front end when turning tight left and right at slow speeds and the 4 wheel drive does not work anymore. Course I have just owned the little Rangers and F150s so they may be labeled for us low wattage truck dummies. . Tomorrow, I'm taking them to the Office Depot for copies and possible file to save. .

I pulled the radio last night, nothing there. . All and all the stuck truck Dodge ended up blowing a transmission and the pull truck Chevy ended up blowing a motor.
