While the vehicle was parked at a gas station, it began to roll away. The manufacturer was contacted in reference to recall 06e024000 engine and engine cooling. Hope I don't have any more problems but from my investigation 2006 has transmission issues. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred on multiple occasions. Or park to reverse the dealership is refusing to undo this recall. While parked on an incline, the contact started the vehicle and placed his foot on the accelerator pedal. The problem occurred 3 times.
I left my truck running at a gas station one morning which I rarely do and while I was inside paying for a cup of coffee my truck took off in reverse and crashed into a utility poll. Both the home and the vehicle were damaged. The vehicle was able to restart. He had left the driver's side door open while pumping fuel into the vehicle. He was not satisfied with the recall repairs. It traveled backwards for about 8 feet before I could enter the vehicle and engage the brake. The contact stated there were no warnings or direction in traction.
I took it to a special transmission shop out of town and they replaced all the same parts that the dealer had done five months earlier with after market parts and now it works much better but they only reimbursed me half of the cost!. The driver's side door was severely damaged and bent back toward the hood. Chrysler seems uninterested in fixing it, the dealer I bought it from has proven incapable of fixing it, the current dealer can get the oem parts or aftermarket parts with warranty. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted out of park and into reverse on its own. There had been no failure to date. In order to reverse this failure, the vehicle must be placed in neutral for 2- 3 minutes before shifting into reverse. Consumer states that the vehicle rolled backward and hit the other vehicle.
The approximate failure mileage was 1,500. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer, but no repairs were made. Us 287 was right behind the poll with very busy traffic. I ran over to it the tail gate was smashed the truck was still running. At 53000 if went out completely. Chrysler is aware of the problem, has had many customer complaints, and has no fix at this time other than tow in third gear. Consumer's insurance company would like reimbursement for paying for the repairs due to a recall sent out regarding the vehicle slipping out of park.

When he pulled up to the gate of his home he put the vehicle in reverse with the emergency brake on, which gave him light at night, but it startled his cattle.
After I was inside for approximately 30-45 seconds, the trucks gear shift slipped out of park and into reverse, causing the truck to run backwards, finally striking a gas pump and knocking it over. I know several other people with the same model truck and the same sticky valve. The current and failure mileages were 90,000. Despite their failure to supply parts to the dealer going on 4 weeks, they will not authorize compensation for a rental vehicle of any kind. There was no damage on the first incident, but an empty parked school bus was struck causing damage to the right front quarter panel, right door and the hood on the second occasion.
The vehicle then drifted backwards. This is the second complete failure of the tranny in 4 months and 3 weeks in with no repairs done to the vehicle, and broken promises from Chrysler on parts availability. I had started the other truck and was letting it warm up when I looked over at the truck I had parked it was about 25 yards away with the back up against a tree. I will never leave my truck idling or without the brake set. The contact called the manufacturer, and was told that they would not cover any damages to his vehicle at this time.
