I brought the vehicle in for service in Sept. That's really impressive and still understandable, because Saab actually lost money on every single car they made. I give this car 3. A wagon joined the 9-3 line for 2006. Sorry to see them go, I loved all but the one.
My 9-3 now has over 110,000 miles on it after I bought it with about 70,000 miles. I love, love , love this vehicle. I was also told that it may take up to two years before I could get it repaired under warranty I am pretty sure the part and repair from the manufacturer warranty would be out and the extended warranty would certainly be out as it expires in Aug 2012 or in 6000 miles. They just said it was too bad for me that no one would answer the phone and I should have known to call them. Coolant leak sorted with Radweld! I was determined to find a car that had style, was luxurious, practical, and had great performance. For years, Saab has mounted its ignition in the center console, produced front-wheel-drive automobiles when others hadn't thought about it, and designed cars with hatchbacks in a world of notchbacks or trunks. The head gasket is leaking in a new area.
They also told me the dealers that they will not be able to repair my car after this year, because they are currently out of simple parts like an ignition key. The car will tell you, every time you turn the key ,that your headlight is out. At ConsumerAffairs we love to hear from both consumers and brands; please never hesitate to. It keeps telling me my tail light is out even though it is not. They are there for people to use if you just want any car. Do not buy a Saab. The power and response form the 210 Horsepower turbo engine is great and it handles like a sports car. Mine was not and the repair was to be expensive. It gets good gas mileage and has been low maintenance overall. All three have been fantastic cars. In my opinion, the best cars ever made and I'm in the hunt for a low mileage used one right now. Please do yourself a favor and return it.
If maintained by the book well documented , and changed oil every 3K, you will see them go 200K plus look on eBay at some of the mileage on these cars. It didn't do this again for a few months and I took it in to have the issue checked out. I purchased it very cheaply since the car company is dead. I am experiencing, for the third time, ignition issues and now I will have to worry how to pay for items that I had hoped would be covered. The seats are very comfortable but the leg room in the back seat is tight. I highly recommend going elsewhere. To make the customer as happy as possible! Without any rhyme nor reason? When I bought it, it only had 22,000 miles and 3 months later, it was in the shop for a sensor.
Randomly, at a stop light the car completely shuts off. It's dependable and it gets great mileage too. I don't look forward to the day when they die of old age and I have to buy a non-Saab product since they no longer exist.
