In regards to what Mr. I have read several complaints regarding the suburban transmission. When fluid begins coming out that hole, it is full. Then it is fine for a while and will repeat the same, sometimes weeks apart, more often in the summer months. We were unable to stop when necessary. It existed, we fixed it, and they need to reimburse us.
Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer has replaced the transmission. Happened to my wife and it was hard to believe. Shop had 3 on shelf because they see a lot of them. She was also told by the dealer that this may be something that is normal with a computerized transmission. My husband is pretty certain the transmission is done for but i still have hope.
Transmission problems only worsen with time. I've checked all the fuses , replaced the speed senor in the t-case as far as I know this is the only one the truck has , it's a base work truck trim and the wiring harness to the t -case and speed sensor, and no dice. I purchased it a year ago with 150,000 miles on it. Also, if the accumulator housing walls are scored, the housing must be replaced. Transmission must be removed and rebuilt. Its not the place that changed the oil its the person that did not change the trans oil in 122k.

After I completed the job the truck would not go into gear. When changing from park to reverse it sounds like it is coming apart. I did change the transfer case motor the front and the back. Limped into next town in 3-d 3500rpm. While i think that not every shop is this bad,I would bet that many so called bad trannys are just something minor. Also, that the brakes system was changed in the 2000 vehicles. While changing gears its like a big thud.
Try not to run or drive the car or further damage could result. Break that union after relieving pressure and you will find it there. The issues in our transmission started late last summer, 2002. If not, this must be replaced. The dealer and manufacturer stated there was a recall, but this model was not included. Transmission must be removed and rebuilt, sooner rather than later.
